Webinterpret and Parcel2Go Partner to Solve GPSR Compliance for Ecommerce Sellers

Webinterpret and Parcel2Go Partner to Solve GPSR Compliance for eCommerce Sellers

Webinterpret and Parcel2Go have joined forces to provide an automated GPSR compliance solution for sellers operating within and selling to the EU.

Webinterpret ensures that all Parcel2Go customers can meet the GPSR compliance requirements in just a few clicks and prevents interruption of their EU revenue and operations. This seamless integration with Webinterpret’s GPSR Compliance solution allows all users of Parcel2Go’s services to maintain and expand their reach across the EU.

Why is GSPR compliance so important for ecommerce sellers?

The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is the EU’s new product safety framework. It establishes EU-wide safety standards for all non-food products sold online or offline and increases market surveillance to protect consumers from potentially harmful products.

Starting from December 2024, all ecommerce sellers must comply with the GPSR to avoid revenue loss from EU buyers, potential legal penalties, and having product listings removed from marketplaces like eBay and Amazon.

Fines for non-compliant sellers depend on the gravity of the violation and can range up to 4% of the merchant’s global annual turnaround.

Furthermore, online marketplace providers have the right to suspend a seller’s account for an unspecified amount of time, which can create considerable revenue losses and damage their reputation.

Compliance with the EU’s new product safety regulation is mandatory regardless of where a seller is based.

Hence, digital merchants based in one of the member states, the European Economic Area, or outside of the EU must meet the same requirements before placing their products on the EU’s online markets.

The compliance requirements include updating products’ technical documentation, labels, safety warnings, and appointing an EU Responsible Person.

Merchants must also ensure that their listings on digital marketplaces contain the compulsory information, such as product identifiers and the contact details of the products’ EU Responsible Person and manufacturer.

A partnership for automated GPSR compliance

Webinterpret’s GPSR compliance solution allows Parcel2Go’s customers operating on the EU’s online marketplaces to update listings almost instantly.

The solution is available to sellers based in the EU member states and outside the EU.

Webinterpret’s GPSR compliance solution allows sellers to:

  • Review and identify non-compliant product listings
  • Collect missing data and update product listing information
  • Find and appoint an EU Responsible Person
  • Generate GPSR-compliant product labels

Webinterpret enables Parcel2Go’s clients to continue operating on the EU’s online marketplaces without risk of revenue loss, fines, or store suspensions.
