Why you should have attended the eBay Roadshow in Ascot!

Why you should have attended the eBay Roadshow in Ascot!

It’s a new year for the eBay Roadshow which kicked off in Ascot this Thursday, and will next visit Edinburgh followed by Liverpool. And for 2025 it’s an all new eBay Roadshow so read on for reasons to attend one of the next events!

With around 200 people attending, this was a busy eBay Roadshow, which kicked off in style with Ade Ahmadu (pictured above), eBay’s Seller Inititatives Senior Manager welcoming eBay sellers to the event. Something new for 2025 is the eBay Events App which contains your badge, agenda, networking, and your personal schedule for the day.

The big change for 2025 however is the content. It’s been totally revamped for the new year, and if you’ve attended a roadshow before you’ll be pleased to know it’s more in-depth, catering firmly for experienced sellers, and rather that what has been in the past a menu of tools and services has been transformed into a strategies and tactics education programme, adding even more value to the day. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

The opening keynote with eBay’s COO, Sholto Mee, was swiftly followed by a seller clinic on how to stand out in search and build your brand with real insights including the obligatory ‘Dish your listing’ where some (actually already pretty good listings from sellers in the room were dissected with suggestions for improvements. This was pretty useful, especially as they related features on the listings to some of eBay’s newest policy updates – for instance one seller was seen to be already using the new eBay ‘Used – Excellent’ condition for fashion, and it was pointed out those that hadn’t updated their listings would be stuck with the less favourable ‘Used – Good’ condition. Relating real life to policy is invaluable.

Before lunch was a regulatory session which again instead of simply reeling off a list of legal requirements related them to real life seller examples and demonstrated how eBay are making it as easy as possible to comply when selling to the US or EU. This session alone would be worth turning up to a future eBay Roadshow for.

After lunch we look at ways to gain a competitive edge on eBay by using features and tools and those in the room are equipped to go back and apply the strategies shared to boost their visibility and sales immediately. This was followed by a seller panel and then guest speaker Dr Nicola Millard from BT Business discussing how AI and technology are revolutionising digital customer experiences.

Finally, the day rounded off with a session on mastering eBay Advertising for scalable growth, again with a real life seller relating how they have engaged with advertising, what’s worked and what hasn’t from real life experience.

If you’d like to attend a future eBay Roadshow in 2025, keep an eye on the eBay Events page, or book now to join eBay in Edinburgh on the 8th of May!
