Last month, eBay shared that Simple Delivery will be the only delivery option available for private sellers when listing eligible items. eBay are introducing a new parcel size option and new postage rates for Simple Delivery, which will come into effect on the 20th May, 2025. eBay are also working on bringing you even more of the features you’ve requested, and are adding a lower-cost option this month where buyers can collect their orders from Evri parcel shops.
We’ve been listening to you and are pleased to share new enhancements as we’ve started rolling out Simple Delivery for our private sellers, including ways to get your funds faster after successful transactions.
As always, thank you for shopping and selling on eBay.

New small parcel size option
After listening to your feedback about the services sellers want, eBay are introducing ‘0-2kg small’ parcel size options to provide you with a lower price point. eBay recommend reviewing and amending your live listings that use small or medium parcels from the 20th of May, to make sure you’re offering your buyers the best prices.
For example, if you have a 1-2kg medium parcel, you can change this to a 0-2kg small parcel if the dimensions fit. You’ll be able to amend this from your Active Listings or View Item page. To get the most competitive prices, consider enabling all couriers by going to postage preferences in your account settings.
A promotional postage rate
Until the new rate comes in, there’s an eBay promotional rate for small and medium parcels (between 0-2kg) to match the Royal Mail pricing you’re used to. This only applies to items that are eligible for Simple Delivery, and will end at 11:59pm on on 19th of May. After this, the new postage rates will apply. eBay say, comparing the average Simple Delivery and non-Simple Delivery Buyer postage label cost savings data on eBay from Oct 2024 to March 2025, that you can save 20% off postage costs with Evri and Royal Mail
New collect from store option with Evri
To continue improving the Simple Delivery experience, eBay are rolling out a collect from store option this month with Evri. This will be a cheaper, more convenient option for your buyers, where they can collect their items from the Evri parcel shop or locker of their choice, and save 15% or more on delivery costs. If you’d like to offer this option to your buyers and have currently excluded Evri from your couriers, be sure to add them back in by going to your postage preferences.
Royal Mail’s ‘Bring My Label’ service
To make things easier and faster for you, eBay will soon be adding a service where you’ll be able to book a home collection with Royal Mail directly through eBay, and a postage label will be brought to you at the time of collection. This way, when a postal worker comes to collect your item, they’ll bring the label with them, saving you the hassle of printing it yourself.
Check the pricing on this when it launches, Royal Mail have had a long running promotion for free Parcel Collect, which ended on the 1st of May 2025. Currently the charge for a collection is 30p and we’re now waiting to see the cost of Parcel Collect when purchased through eBay.
Update your courier preferences
eBay say that they know that it’s important in some cases for you to be able to choose your preferred courier. As a reminder, you can easily set your postage preferences from your account settings. Currently, Simple Delivery offers services from both Royal Mail and Evri. eBay recommend enabling all couriers for the most competitive postage rates.
Faster payments
eBay have also announced improvements that will help private sellers access funds more quickly when buyers have left positive feedback. On the 28th of April, eBay expanded the eligibility criteria by raising the item cap on tracked orders from £25 to £750. This means you can benefit from your funds being released faster for more of your transactions.
Tracked orders
If your order subtotal is £750 or less, your funds will immediately be available upon receiving positive feedback from the buyer after delivery, instead of the usual 2-day wait. If your buyer doesn’t leave positive feedback, you’ll still receive your funds 2 days after delivery confirmation.
Untracked orders
If your order subtotal is £10 or less, your funds will immediately be available once positive feedback is received from the buyer. If no feedback is provided, your funds will still become available 14 calendar days from the order date.
