From the 23rd of June 2025, Amazon’s 30-day Voluntary Returns Guarantee will no longer apply to several product categories on Amazon.it and Amazon.de. Instead, buyers will have 14 days from delivery to request a return, and an additional 14 days to send the item back, under the right of withdrawal.
Some exceptions to the voluntary 30-day return guarantee came into effect on the 7th of May 2024:
- Camera & Photo
- Electronics
- Computer
- Wireless
- Office supplies & stationery
- Music
- Videos & DVDs
- Video games
Now from the 23rd of July, the list of the voluntary return guarantee will also excluded items from the following product categories:
- Books
- Software
- Games & Toys
- DIY
- Video
- Kitchen
- Car & Motorcycle
- Electronic devices for personal care
- Home Entertainment
- Large electrical appliances
Further Exceptions to Amazon Voluntary Return Guarantee
In addition, the same exceptions apply to Amazon voluntary return guarantee as to the right of withdrawal. The following products cannot be returned under the voluntary return guarantee (unless they are defective):
- Products which are not suitable for return for reasons of health protection or hygiene and whose seal has been removed after delivery or which, due to their nature, have been inseparably mixed with other products
- Audio or video recording software or computer software in sealed packaging, if the seal has been removed after delivery
- Products made to customer specifications or specifically customized for personal needs, especially personalized Amazon Handmade items
- Perishable products or products whose best-before date is exceeded after a short time
- Services, provided that the service provider has provided them in full
- Newspapers, magazines or illustrated publications with the exception of subscription contracts
- Alcoholic beverages whose price was agreed upon conclusion of the purchase contract but which can be delivered after 30 days and whose current value is subject to market fluctuations over which the seller has no control
- If an eBook has been partially read or misused, refunds may be refused.
