Amazon are writing to sellers letting them know that they could adjust their transit times, with the aim to make them more accurate. This will likely impact you if you’ve padded your transit time to give you a little more leeway for on time deliveries.
We’ve identified an opportunity to update your displayed transit times, based on your recent performance. Accurate transit times lead to delivery dates that better match shoppers’ expectations and improve the customer experience.
In the upcoming weeks, we’ll update the standard transit time ranges in your domestic shipping templates to values that better match your actual delivery times.

How will Amazon adjust Transit Times?
- If your transit time is set to 5 to 7 days, and your preferred carrier delivers within four days, Amazon will update the transit time to 3 to 5 days.
- Inversely, if your transit time is set to 2 to 3 days, and your preferred carrier delivers within four days, Amazon will update it to 3 to 5 days.
- Your templates for premium, international, and expedited shipping remain unchanged.
Although no immediate action is required from you, Amazon remind you that you remain responsible for safeguarding the accuracy of your transit time settings. That’s a bizarre statement – you’re responsible and have set them, and now they’re going to go in an change them, but it’s your fault if they’re incorrect!
Amazon finished off saying that you can, at any time, go to Shipping settings to adjust your transit times… a seller told us:
I set my delivery times for a reason, because I DON’T want customers to waste my time after one day saying where’s my stuff.
Argggghhhh
Now I have to waste my time checking every few days to see if Amazon has changed it!!
