Today, refurbed, the leading online marketplace for refurbished products has announced it is one of the first providers in Europe to achieve profitability as a company, demonstrating that the circular economy and profitability are not mutually exclusive.
Irish consumers have played a key role in this achievement, contributing €100 million in sales, with over 300,000 refurbished products purchased since refurbed’s launch in Ireland.
The marketplace’s range includes more than 25,000 products up to 40% cheaper than buying new – from smartphones, laptops and tablets to household appliances, e-bikes and sport accessories. refurbed is currently active in eleven countries: Ireland, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, The Czech Republic and Portugal.
With so much uncertainty, politically, economically, and environmentally, building something that lasts has never felt more important. Becoming profitable in this climate isn’t just about numbers; it’s about proving that you can grow in a way that’s responsible, resilient, and real. We’ve shown that it’s possible to put sustainability at the core of what you build and still run a healthy business. That balance matters—and it’s the kind of leadership the future will demand.
