Amazon are updating their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Pay on Behalf service policy for the UK, Spain, and France, with the main impact being that they are combining policies for the UK, Spain and France into a single policy. Changes are coming into effect on the 27th of August 2025.
EPR Pay on Behalf charges consist of eco-contribution fees for eligible sales that Amazon pay on your behalf, and an EPR Pay on Behalf service fee to cover administrative and technical costs to manage your EPR compliance obligations (plus VAT if applicable). Amazon will enrol you automatically (or may already have enrolled you) in the EPR Pay on Behalf service if you don’t submit a valid EPR number before the end of the applicable reporting cycle.
- One simple policy: Amazon will combine separate policies for each country so you can find relevant policy information in one place.
- EPR fee reserves: Amazon may hold EPR eco-contribution and service fees in reserve to ensure that they can make timely payments to environmental organizations.
- Flexible charging: Amazon may charge additional EPR eco-contribution and service fees at times that may differ from the applicable reporting cycle, including additional charges due to regulatory recalculations.
- Required data sharing: Amazon may share legally required product and sales data with environmental organizations to ensure your compliance with EPR regulations.
