On the 31st of July 2025, Amazon will update Premium Shipping Options programme requirements. They say that this will move focus to your recent shipping performance and give you more flexibility to maintain programme eligibility.
The changes are:
- Reduce the on-time delivery rate requirement from 97% to 92%.
- Reduce the performance evaluation period from 30 days to 7 days
- The new evaluation period will be between day 14 to day 7 in the past from the current date
Previously Amazon measured your performance from day 40 to day 10 in the past, i.e. over a full 30 day period. There are two things to bear in mind:
- With a shorter evaluation period it will become more likely that you’ll fail the performance evaluation at times. With only 7 days measured instead of 30 days, a small number of glitches in your performance will be more impactful. To balance this, the on-time delivery rate requirement has been lowered 5 percentage points to 92% so there is a little more leeway.
- It will be easier to recover from a temporary failure – 7 days will pass pretty rapidly and so long as your shortcoming was limited to a couple of days, after a week they’ll be out of scope and won’t be impacting you for a full month.
This shorter evaluation period means that your current operational performance, rather than older performance metrics, will determine your programme eligibility.
If any of your performance metrics fall below the thresholds for Premium Shipping Options eligibility, we’ll notify you and share recommendations to improve them. If you continue not to meet the thresholds, your programme eligibility may be revoked.

It’s also worth noting that in addition to the evaluations above, you also need to maintain:
- Valid tracking rate: 100% for Premium Shipping orders with Amazon approved carriers for Premium Shipping Options.
- Seller-initiated cancellation rate: Less than 0.5% for Premium Shipping orders.
