British Heart Foundation goes to Wimbledon!

Game, Set… SOFA. British Heart Foundation delivers comfort to the Wimbledon ticket queue

British Heart Foundation (BHF) served up something unexpected at this year’s Wimbledon – and it wasn’t strawberries and cream. For one day only, BHF surprised tennis fans by delivering a preloved sofa straight to the iconic Wimbledon queue, offering those in line a chance to rest their legs while highlighting BHF’s wide range of affordable, quality second-hand furniture.

The stylish sofa, sourced from the local Kingston BHF store and priced at a bargain £95, was placed right in the heart of the queue. Surrounded by playful signs with messages like “Game, Seat, Match.” and “Ace the Wait,” the setup invited fans to take a break and soak up the atmosphere in comfort.

When we found out that British Heart Foundation were providing this lovely sofa for the queue this morning, we took full advantage! We’ve enjoyed the whole thing and will definitely be visiting our local store to find even more bargains – thank you so much BHF!

– Roberta Bennington, who travelled from Northern Ireland to join the queue

The delivery, which is just one example of the charity’s convenient nationwide delivery service, was a smash hit with the crowd, giving tennis lovers the perfect excuse to put their feet up and relax in true Centre Court style.

We loved bringing a little extra comfort to the Wimbledon queue today. It was a fun way to show that our furniture is not only stylish and sustainable, but also available for delivery wherever you need it… even Wimbledon Park! Every item we sell here at BHF helps fund vital research into cardiovascular diseases, so moments like this aren’t just about showing off what we’ve got to offer, it’s about saving lives.

– Allison Swaine Hughes, Retail Director, British Heart Foundation

Whether you’re looking for a sofa that’s match-point ready or a dining table that’s a real ace, BHF offers a fantastic selection of preloved and brand-new furniture available for delivery, plus a wide range of online finds via their eBay store. It’s worth noting the British Heart Foundation are the top eBay for Charity seller world wide!

In just one year, BHF saves over 54,000 tonnes of goods from going to waste and in the last financial year the charity sold over 185,000 preloved sofas and armchairs – saving the same amount from going to landfill.
