Highland Titles is a family business founded in 2006, selling souvenir plots of Scottish land, as well as the experience of being addressed as a Laird, Lord or Lady of the Glen. Today they sends certificates and information packs to gift recipients in over 100 countries, with significant volumes to the UK, France, Germany, and the US.
Shipping over 30,000 packages annually – including gift certificates and branded accessories such as socks, books, and keyrings. In the five years since the Covid pandemic, Highland Titles has doubled its monthly orders, and expanded from 15 overseas markets to 70.
Needing a professional parcel shipping partner to support ongoing growth, while helping it improve customer satisfaction levels, they also wanted a partner set up for certificate printing, specialist packing and dispatch via air freight. They also required full tracking capabilities and responsive customer support, including handling “Where is my order?” (WISMO) queries and returns management.
As a brand that champions environmental sustainability, Highland Titles also sought a logistics partner whose operations reflected strong eco-credentials and a commitment to green practices.
In 2023, Highland Titles partnered with Asendia UK, adopting Asendia’s e-PAQ parcel services to streamline global order fulfilment. The solution includes end-to-end tracking and automated customer notifications, reducing order inquiries. When external disruptions such as airport strikes or customs delays occur, Asendia communicates updates directly to Highland Titles’ customers.
We needed a partner that could be flexible and make adjustments to their process in order to meet our very specific requirements. From our first meeting with the Asendia UK team, everything fell into place, and we had immediate confidence that the partnership would work.
We always have the same point of contact at Asendia, so they’re able to help us if a parcel has been lost in transit, for example, and this ensures peace of mind for us, and our customers.
Switching away from in-house fulfilment was easier than we expected, because Asendia has a really proactive technical team, who could talk to our IT team, and together come up with solutions to issues that arose around orders, shipping and customer communication.
– Doug Wilson, CEO, Highland Titles
Asendia’s Southampton fulfilment centre offers a comprehensive service under one roof—printing certificates, storing stock, and providing scalable pick-and-pack operations. It also adapts easily to changes, such as new product lines or destination countries.
Highland Titles’ orders are processed and gift packs assembled at the Southampton site before being transferred to Asendia’s Heathrow hub for international air freight transportation. From there, parcels are shipped to over 100 destinations, including the EU, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the USA, Chile, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
As Highland Titles expands into new markets, Asendia UK offers valuable expertise on global logistics, including how to cope with tariff changes and regional complexities. Asendia has also recommended where cost savings can be made, for instance switching to better-value in-country postal providers and last mile delivery companies, driving down cost-per-delivery for Highland Titles.
Sustainability initiatives are important to Highland Titles. It has invested heavily in Scottish nature reserves, and in support of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, a ‘bee hotel’, which is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records, has been built on one of these sites. Asendia UK, who have long been committed to sustainability values, also now supports the charity, having been introduced to it by Highland Titles.
