Yesterday evening, I did something unexpected, I purchased a pack of Whiskas Dry Cat Food. That’s not unusual, but I bought from Mars Petcare on Temu!
The Mars Petcare UK Official Store on Temu is packed with everything I’d normally purchase on eBay or Amazon, but I got dragged in with a promo code and in Temu’s normal attractive pricing it was a bargain. Comparing the three marketplaces for the Tuna Dry Cat Food 7kg:
- Amazon: Sold and shipped by Amazon – £17.49
- eBay: Mars Petcare UK Official Store – £22.99 currently with a £2.30 off code so today £20.69
- Temu: Mars Petcare UK Official Store – £22.01 plus £2 shipping
But that’s not the whole story – why didn’t I buy for a lower price on eBay or even lower price on Amazon? In truth I had other products in my Temu shopping cart and was told if I spent another £16 I’d get £15 off. Effectively that meant add the cat food to my order and the effective price to me was about tenner including carriage! I couldn’t resist!
You can expect normally delivery within 2 days from the Mars Petcare UK official Temu store, and that’s just one day later than Amazon and on a par with eBay’s 2-3 day delivery promise.
Amazon will deliver for free to me (as I have Prime membership) and the offer on eBay is also free carriage. Temu look really expensive in comparison (even if £2 shipping is exceptionally low), but where Temu get you is on their vouchers and promotions.
But pricing isn’t the real story here, it’s that big brands that you might not expect are selling on Temu and fulfilling from their local warehouse. Temu is no longer a site where you’re buying cheap low ASP plastic tat from China, it’s a site where if you’re a canny shopper and willing to play their gamification merry go round you can buy from top brands at knock down prices.
It’s also worth noting that the Mars Petcare UK Official Store on Temu is managed by the amazing Trojan Electronics based in Swansea, and they’re also behind the Mars Petcare UK store on eBay so it’s exactly the same products and service you’d expect regardless of which platform you purchase on. If you don’t want to handle D2C selling yourself, there are people like Trojan that can get your brand on the marketplace platforms and handle the sales for you.

temu is a great marketplace for buyers. I spend a good £100 a month there!! there is knack to getting the right deal.
were the other contents of your basket needed! if not even “free” cat food becomes expensive
Yes, I was about to check out with a power tool and couple of electronic devices in my basket anyway, saw the ‘spend £16’ more message, and that’s when I added the cat food.
I started shopping on Temu while back and thought the prices were too good to be true. The items arrived and all was good. Usually, when shopping on ebay, I always use https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ for the normal 1% cashback, but I only just noticed that you can get apx 4% with https://www.topcashback.co.uk/temu-uk/ and apx 23% as a new customer!!!
Look out family, Christmas is a comming and Temu’s got lots to offer B-)
