Etsy tools & community investments for holiday success

Today we look at how Etsy is setting its community of sellers up for success in the lead-up to the holiday season. While the holidays are often the most rewarding time of the year for sellers, it can also be the most challenging – this upcoming season is no exception. 

Etsy is focused on investing in the tools, resources, and opportunities for community resources that will help sellers streamline their business management and find inspiration from the experts and fellow makers at Etsy. Highlights include:

Enhancing Etsy with smarter tools

Running a business is hard work, and time is often the scarcest resource. To help sellers free up time, Etsy have introduced a suite of improved tools. In Shop Manager, sellers will now see “Top Tasks” to help prioritise urgent actions, and Etsy’s new Marketplace Insights tool powered by real Etsy data serves up buyer trends and ways to more effectively engage with them.

Etsy are also putting the power of AI into sellers’ hands with tools like title suggestions and Writing Assistant, which make it easier for them to clearly communicate with buyers and spend more time on the parts of their business they love.

Bringing the Etsy community together

When you choose to run a business on Etsy, you become part of their vibrant, global community of makers and creative entrepreneurs. Sellers in Etsy’s ecosystem have always inspired and supported each other, and this holiday season they are offering even more opportunities to connect.

First, Etsy’s biggest event of the year, Etsy Up, is back with engaging sessions to help sellers level up their shops. And they are excited to introduce their first-ever live aftershow, where participants can learn from even more Etsy experts and ask questions in real time.

Next month, Etsy will also launch a new-and-improved Community Hub, complete with AI-powered search, fresh educational resources, and a revamped Teams experience for discovering and joining groups of like-minded creatives.

Building trust through transparency

Keeping the Etsy marketplace safe and special is a top priority, and they say that they can’t do it without the help of the entire community. Sellers have told Etsy that they want more transparency and guidance on how they can keep their shop in good standing, so Etsy are adding a new dashboard in Shop Manager that provides more insight into any policy violations.

Etsy are also piloting a new process that makes it easier to appeal enforcement decisions from our Trust & Safety team on individual listings.

Always-on support

Sellers can count on Etsy to be there when they need help. Live support is available 24/7, and this holiday season they are doubling their coverage under Etsy Purchase Protection, stepping in if an order doesn’t go as planned so sellers can keep moving forward with confidence.
