At the TikTok U.S. Creator Summit, TikTok announced AI-powered tools to make it easier to create and share on TikTok.
Smart Split to Streamline editing
TikTok are introducing Smart Split, an AI-powered editing tool to make content creation more efficient and accessible. Available on TikTok Studio Web globally, Smart Split automatically clips, reframes, captions, and transcribes longer content into multiple short videos ready for TikTok. For example, Smart Split can help creators cut their day in the life vlog or a podcast episode into multiple clips.
To get started, creators can upload content over one minute long and select the parts they’d like to convert into shorter clips. Based on the selected part of the video, Smart Split can automatically choose a video length or creators can choose a specific length for the videos. Additionally, creators can choose from a range of caption formatting options and reframe the content into vertical clips. Once Smart Split creates the clips, creators can select any video to upload straight to their TikTok account.
AI Outline
TikTok are also rolling out AI Outline, a new AI-powered creation tool that makes the creative process easier. AI Outline helps creators structure their content by generating video titles, hashtags, hooks and outlines by inputting a prompt or selecting a highly searched topic in Creator Search Insights. AI Outline gives creators a more in-depth idea of how to structure their content to help support their creative process.
AI Outline generates an outline that will break down the video into six parts that creators can customize. For instance, creators can lengthen or shorten the title, refine the hook, and the general script idea to make the video in their style. Once the outline is complete, creators can record the video and upload it on TikTok. Starting today, AI Outline is available to creators 18 years and older in the U.S., Canada, and select markets, with broader availability in the coming weeks.
Subscription revenue share update
TikTok also announced a revenue share update to their Subscription product, making it possible for creators to receive up to 90% of the profit payouts. Subscription allows TikTok creators to build stronger, more engaged communities while monetizing through a monthly subscription fee for access to exclusive perks like special badges, subscriber-only posts, chat features and more.
Following the update, after fees, creators receive 70% of TikTok’s revenue share, and those who meet other requirements (10K followers, 100K views in the last month and 3+ subscription-only videos posted in the last month) can unlock an extra 20% monthly reward on top of that, for a total of up-to 90% of the revenue.
