There’s a new Fruugo pricing model coming in from the 1st of January 2026, which they say make their fees clearer, fairer, and easier to understand while keeping your overall costs competitive.
The Fruugo fee structure is currently calculated on the customer price (which includes VAT, price pointing and currency conversion). This is being replaced by a single flat fee of 20%, calculated on the price you set in your product feed including shipping. Fruugo are keen to point out that this is not a fee change, they say that the total percentage fee remains the same.
This new fee structure’s simplicity means that you will receive 80% of your listed price, in your currency, irrespective of the shopper’s country. Any currency conversions or price variances for different countries are at Fruugo’s cost.
From the 1st of January, the Fruugo all-inclusive fee covers:
- Commission
- Payment processing fee
- Traffic generation and marketing investment
Fruugo point to the benefits being:
- Simplicity : One flat fee for everything
- Transparency : Always know your exact margin before you list a product.
- Predictability : Easier planning and pricing across multiple markets.
- Growth investment : Over half of Fruugo’s fee is reinvested directly in marketing and traffic to bring you more customers.
- Flexibility : Continue to use the commission dial to boost visibility whenever you want (used by the majority of our retailers to drive more sales).
Fruugo pricing model pilot test results
Fruugo say that in pilot testing the results showed that, armed with the new clarity on their margins, some Retailers began to lower their product prices in their Fruugo product data feeds. In various cases this resulted in the Retailers generating the same net amount of money per sale as before, yet crucially their overall volume of sales increased.
Opt in to new 20% Fruugo pricing model early
Fruugo are encouraging sellers to opt in early to the new pricing model now, especially if in response to this change you are lowering your prices.
Fruugo continues to invest heavily in marketing throughout the busy season. Lowering your prices now can dramatically increase your visibility and conversion rate whilst we drive the same (or higher) levels of customer traffic to your listings.
Early adopters who align their pricing strategy now will benefit first from the improved visibility and conversion boost.
