In June 2024, the ecommerce world saw the Tesco Marketplace relaunch, having closed down in 2018. It was a welcome return as the biggest UK grocer has unprecedented reach and the ability to sell virtually anything alongside your weekly grocery shop.
Now, just 15 months later, news is out that the Tesco Marketplace is to replatform to Mirakl, which will please many as it opens the door to using multichannel providers and a marketplace platform they’ll be ultra familiar with – the same that B&Q, Debenhams and many others use.
For some it will be a frustration, having worked with Tesco to launch on their original platform, Marketplacer, and now they’ll have to redo their integrations to continue to sell on Tesco.
It’s a real coup for Mirakl, but after Tesco invested in Marketplacer it’s hard not to feel sympathy for them. Tesco was undoubtedly one of their biggest clients and their about turn to move to Mirakl could influence the decisions of other potential retailers looking to open marketplaces.
If you’re currently a seller on Tesco, make sure that you speak to your multichannel provider partner to ensure a smooth transition. If you’re not currently selling on Tesco and what’s held you back is technology, then if you now want to sell via a Mirakl platformed Tesco then get in touch with the marketplace as it’s time for you to launch on Tesco!

Sadly our experience with this integration has been poor, no account/onboarding manager, the automatic migration of products has been poor and undone so much of our work, not to mention the push to get us to pay for Mirakl Connect for product integration at a cool £600 per month, not helpful for our SME. Anyone had similar experience?
