Vinted clothing sizes change for Women and Children

Vinted have caused a storm with their users with their latest update. Vinted clothing sizes have been updated, and in some cases this has drastically altered the size buyers should be searching for. As you might imagine, there’s a lot of vitriol being thrown Vinted’s way, with sellers realising that they’ve got to update many (or all) of their listings.

We’re updating the way we manage women’s and kids’ clothing sizes in listings to make shopping and selling on Vinted easier than ever. Now, the sizes you see on these listings will be more accurate, especially for items purchased from other countries or international brands.

In our old system, numeric sizes scaled in a way that was inconsistent with the international letter size. For example, our old sizing system incorrectly paired a UK numeric size 16 to letter size XXL. However, we found that other size systems typically align UK 16 with L.

While Vinted have automatically updated the sizing for many existing listings, that still means you’ll need to check all your listings to ensure any updated automatically are correct and that you edit any that weren’t updated to the new system

Whether you think the old size 16 should be an XXL, of if the new size 24-26 should be an XXL is really irrelevant. What matters is that if you have an XXL listing and someone that’s a size 24-26 buys it they’re going to be disappointed and you’re going to have an unhappy customer.
