Way back in 2024, we heard from hundreds of sellers who fell foul of Amazon KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements, with demands for documents to prove their business and VAT establishment status. Now, the emails have started again with what appears to be more than a handful of sellers caught in a doom loop of submitting documents just for them to be rejected.
Some sellers tell us that their businesses have been in limbo since around October 2025, and after more than a full quarter of no disbursements they are on the brink of collapse, with inventory held in Amazon FBA and storage fees still being applied.
Looking through the Amazon forums, we see reports saying:
I’ve been an active UK seller for 10 years, and have now failed KYC as they say my driving licence is not acceptable
The issue is the personal identity verification dropdown only offers “Passport” — there is no option for UK Driving Licence. I do not have a passport, and I shouldn’t be forced to get one just to verify when I have a valid UK driving licence
I’ve been selling on Amazon for over 7 years now and had a great relationship with them. Amazon has asked for KYC documents which I provided 30 minutes after they requested them. My account is selling as normal but I’m not able to take any payments out. I’m owed 20k+ currently which I’m not able to withdraw and I’m needing to pay my staff
I would like to summarize my situation clearly, as I have been stuck in an unresolved Amazon Payments UK (APUK) verification process for several months without meaningful progress. All fund disbursements were withheld due to an ongoing business/KYC verification review (since September 2025)
My account has been suspended, preventing me from withdrawing funds. My KYC application has been under review for nearly two months now
While there will likely always be a few sellers who haven’t supplied the correct documentation, or are overseas businesses unable to provide UK establishment status, there appears to be more accounts on hold that would normally be expected.
The biggest complaint about Amazon KYC appears to be less about supplying the correct documentation and more about the inability to speak to a human when ‘machine says no’, coupled with long wait times and submitting documents which are then rejected. There doesn’t appear to be the simple ability to speak to a human to have their case reviewed.
Have you been caught in the Amazon KYC cycle of doom, or have you recently submitted documentation that’s been accepted?
Our advice if you are having trouble clearing Amazon KYC requirements is to get in touch with the Small Business Commissioner, who will need your Amazon Account ID in order to make an enquiry with Amazon.

My payouts have been held just because of a suspected violation which Amazon has failed to prove however I have provided all the documentation evidence including my bank statement to prove this but still they think they are above everything, SCAMMERS
