It’s time to prepare to sell on Argos! News is out that within the next 12 months, Argos, one of the UK’s major retailers and now owned by Sainsbury’s, is to launch a marketplace. It’ll be powered by Mirakl, making it ultra easy to Sell on Argos for brands and retailers already live on any other Mirakl platform and ensures easy integrations with third party providers.
The aim for Argos – to offer a wider range of products from a curated group of partners in complimentary and existing categories. This suggests two things 1) You’ll have to be invited (or apply for an invite to sell on Argos) and 2) There will be significant range expansion so if you’re products aren’t typically what you’d expect to find in the Argos catalogue this could still be a great opportunity to expand UK sales.
This has huge potential – we’ve already seen marketplaces powered by Mirakl, such as B&Q, start to offer instore click and collect. Argos already offer click and collect at Sainsbury’s stores, so imagine being able to offer collections at 600 supermarkets and more than 850 convenience stores spread across the UK. We don’t know if Argos marketplace will offer click and collect, but it really wouldn’t be a surprise to see this feature at some point.
