Widdop & Co Showcases WiddopDropship Platform Spring Fair

Widdop & Co has officially launched WiddopDropship.co.uk, a dedicated dropship platform created to help independent retailers expand their online product range without holding additional stock.

The platform was unveiled and demonstrated during Spring Fair, where Widdop hosted a dedicated showcase session for independent retailers at its Hall 4 Village stand. The session introduced attendees to a new way of accessing Widdop’s full product range through a dropship model, allowing retailers to sell more products while Widdop manages fulfilment.

Supporting Independents With a Lower-Risk Growth Model

WiddopDropship has been designed specifically to address the commercial pressures faced by independent retailers, including cash flow constraints, inventory risk, and the challenge of scaling online ranges.

Through the platform, retailers can list Widdop products on their own online stores without upfront stock investment. Orders are fulfilled directly by Widdop, enabling independents to grow their offering while maintaining control over their customer relationships and brand presence.

Widdop has positioned the platform as a complement to its existing wholesale relationships, giving retailers an additional route to market rather than replacing traditional buying models.

Spring Fair Platform Showcase

During the Spring Fair session titled “The Dropship Dine-In”, Widdop shared practical insight into how the platform works, who it is best suited for, and how retailers can onboard efficiently.

The session focused on real operational use cases, including range expansion, seasonal testing, and improving online competitiveness without increasing stock exposure.

Built on Proven Marketplace Infrastructure

WiddopDropship is powered by Avasam Enterprise, a UK-built enterprise marketplace solution used by established brands to launch and operate dropship and multi-vendor marketplaces.

The platform automates catalogue management, inventory synchronisation, order routing, and fulfilment workflows, enabling Widdop to scale the programme without adding operational complexity.

A Clear Signal of Market Evolution

The launch of WiddopDropship reflects a wider shift in how established wholesalers are adapting to the changing needs of independent retailers. Rather than pushing higher stock commitments, Widdop is enabling a digitally led, lower-risk growth model aligned with modern consumer buying behaviour.

For independent retailers, the platform offers broader range access with reduced risk. For the wider industry, it demonstrates how traditional wholesale businesses can evolve into platform-enabled partners.
