Sky Media has announced eBay as the headline partner of Saturday Night Live UK, backing the British debut of NBC’s legendary late-night comedy showcase.
The partnership marks a milestone moment for eBay Live – our interactive live shopping experience – using one of the year’s most talked-about entertainment series to introduce it to a new generation of culturally engaged viewers.
Entertainment meets live shopping
As title sponsor, eBay Live will be integrated across linear TV, on-demand and social. The collaboration brings together two platforms built on entertainment, interaction and community: the high-wire, anything-can-happen energy that makes SNL a cultural force and the real-time, engaging, nature of shopping on eBay Live.
The partnership also includes eBay Live-branded idents, created by Sky Commercial Productions, running across broadcast and on-demand episodes, alongside social clip sponsorship across Sky TV’s platforms. In addition, a five-part YouTube series, The SNL UK Style Edit, will feature styling expertise from eBay’s Pre-loved Style Director Amy Bannerman, spotlighting cast members in capsule wardrobes made up of pre-loved fashion sourced from eBay.
Bringing fans closer to the action
This partnership is built on creating entertainment that connects to our culture and each other, making it an ideal fit. It allows us to showcase our real-time live shopping experience in a way that’s energetic, interactive, and rooted in community. We’re bringing fans closer to the action and extending the entertainment; while highlighting the value and iconic pieces you can find on eBay.
As we scale eBay Live and bring the proposition to new buyers, partnerships like this help drive awareness at scale. We’re putting eBay – and the breadth of inventory our sellers list every day – at the heart of one of the year’s most talked-about launches.
We’re excited about the future of eBay Live – and the impact it can have for our seller community.
