Pinterest appoints Fintan Gillespie as UK and Ireland Managing Director

Pinterest today announced that Fintan Gillespie will join the company as UK and IE Managing Director, effective from the 18th of September 2026. Based in London, Fintan will lead Pinterest’s UK and Ireland business, overseeing the local team, working with advertisers and partners in one of Pinterest’s most important international markets.

With over 80% of its monthly active users based outside North America, Fintan’s appointment reflects Pinterest’s continued focus on international growth. He will be responsible for driving the company’s business in the region, reinforcing Pinterest as a leading visual search platform and deepening relationships with advertisers and agency partners.

As shared in Pinterest’s second quarter 2026 results, the company delivered over $1.1 billion in revenue, up 18% year over year, and reached 640 million global monthly active users, up 11% year over year, marking its 12th consecutive quarter of record users. In Europe, revenue grew 12% year over year.

Fintan joins the team at a time when Pinterest’s UK business is seeing strong engagement from leading brands and advertisers including Levi’s, Primark and Samsung, with partners increasingly turning to the platform to support their advertising strategies and connect with users at the intersection of inspiration, intent and action. His appointment also follows the opening of a new London office that was inaugurated by The Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan earlier in the Summer. Based in Oxford Circus it reflects Pinterest’s vision for a new era of shopping that brings visual search, AI, and physical retail together.

The UK is a strategically important market for Pinterest and a key part of our broader international growth story. Fintan is a highly respected commercial leader with deep experience across digital advertising, strong market relationships and a clear understanding of what brands and agencies need from platforms today. As we continue to scale our business in the UK and Ireland, his leadership will be instrumental in deepening our local market presence, strengthening our partner relationships and unlocking the significant opportunity ahead.

– Greg Owens, VP International, Pinterest

Pinterest has built a uniquely differentiated platform for users and advertisers alike, engineered to move people from inspiration to real-life action. What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to build on the strong foundations already in place in the UK and Ireland and work with the team, our agency partners and advertisers to help more brands connect with people on Pinterest in relevant and meaningful ways.

– Fintan Gillespie, incoming UK Managing Director, Pinterest

Fintan brings significant experience across digital advertising and commercial leadership. He joins Pinterest from Snap, where he held senior roles focused on advertising partnerships globally as well as a focus on the UK market. Fintan also spent time at Google in the UK as agency lead. His experience working closely with brands, agencies and partners across a fast-evolving digital landscape will be central to optimising Pinterest’s growth in the UK and Ireland.

Caroline Orange-Northey left the business in the summer after almost two years of contributing to the success of the UK business.
