How to finish your Christmas shopping fast

No primary category set

There are only a few hours of shopping left until Christmas day, and if you’ve not yet bought that final gift then time is running out.

It’s probably too late to purchase on eBay now, unless you have a very accomodating seller who can still ship today for delivery tomorrow, so it’s time to turn to the high street.

In the US eBay have launched GiftsNearby, the first integration of Milo’s local inventory availability onto eBay. GiftsNearby shows shoppers a selection of popular holiday gift options ranging from electronics and other gadgets to home appliances and toys that are available at local retailers in or near their location.

Only items that are in stock at a selection of trusted retailers are offered, ensuring last-minute Santas can fly out to pick up exactly what they want and know it will be there.

If you’re in the UK then turn to Google product search for your last minute gifts. Google have announced the launch Nearby Shops for the UK which show retailers near you that may sell the item you’re after.

As well as supplying the retailers near you Google also give you the phone number, address and opening times so that you can confirm that the product is in stock when you arrive.

With deals like order online, pick up in store the differences between ecommerce, mobile commerce and traditional retial are becoming ever more blurred. Buyers want to buy at the time and place on the platform or location most convenient to them, and the new features on eBay.com and from Google are demonstrating just how powerful the Internet is becoming.

Far from being a simple choice of buying online or buying on the more traditional highstreet or by mail order retailers are starting to get the tools they need to supply goods at the buyer’s convenience instead of dictating when and how their products can be purchased.

If you’re still out shopping for that last minute gift give GiftsNearby or Google Product Nearby Shops a go, it might make your life a little less stressful today or tomorrow.
