Rummage brings picture based results to eBay.com

No primary category set

There aren’t many ways of doing something new on eBay in terms of search, but a new website Rummage aims to bring a new option to buyers. It gives big picture based search results enabling you to see the product first and foremost giving less emphasis to titles, condition, item specifics and all the other things eBay put in front of you.

As well as picture based search Rummage also gives you the ability to open up a large overlay image with the basic eBay buying information and if you spot something of interest simply hover over an image and you can “pin” it with Pinterest.

Rummage haven’t bothered trying to rebuild eBay search, all they’ve done is to grab eBay’s search results and display them in an interesting way. You can still sort Rummage results by Best Match, Recently Listed, Ending Soonest, Price Highest, Price Lowest or Most Bids.

Sadly Rummage is only available for eBay.com, but it is cute and it does give eBay something to think about next time they’re redesigning search results.
