Amazon click & collect deal with Doddle

No primary category set

In what will be a huge boost to Doodle as they launch, Amazon have signed up to allow their UK customers to pick up parcels at Train Stations.

In an interview with the Telegraph, Lloyd Dorfman who with Network Rail holds a majority share holding, said that the Amazon deal was in place with just the systems issues to be sorted out. Amazon shipments should start arriving at train stations as early as September this year.

This also means that all sellers who ship product with Amazon FBA will automatically have their products available for collection at train stations with no need for any adjustments to the way that they sell. Likewise sellers from Germany, France, the US and around the world who sell on Amazon with FBA will automatically be offering pick up at stations.

Retailers New Look, T M Lewin and internet fashion website Asos have also agreed to use the new service. The one company which hasn’t made any noise about Doddle yet is eBay. Their fledging Click and Collect service with Argos stores is still officially in Beta, but every time we talk to eBay they tell us it’s a resounding success and incredibly popular with consumers. It would be a shame for them to miss out on the 300 proposed Doddle locations as they roll out across the country in the £24m deal.
