Amazon created 6k EU jobs in 2014

Amazon has announced that it created over 6000 jobs in Europe last year.

The new permanent positions were in a variety of positions across the business and included fulfillment center associates, customer service representatives, software development engineers, machine learning experts, datacenter technicians, packaging engineers, computational linguists, site merchandisers, supply chain managers, buyers, designers. The new hires take Amazon’s total employees in the EU to 32k. The new employees are working at more than 50 locations across Europe.

Xavier Garambois, Vice President, Amazon EU Retail. “Demand from our customers in the EU is greater than ever, and we see lots of promising areas to invent and invest for the future. Over the past two years, we have created well in excess of 10,000 new jobs to add to our already large team of Amazonians, and this past year we set a new record with the addition of over 6,000 new positions. Even with all of this hiring, we remain in a phase of heavy investment and have many positions available which we look forward to filling in 2015.”
