Christian Harris, ecommerce Marketing Manager at Currencies Direct attended an Amazon Sellers Meetup in London this week. We asked him to let us know how the event went and he’s kindly penned a few words for Tamebay:
Tuesday saw the second meeting of the Amazon Sellers Meetup Group, organised by Anthony Vaughn, at the William IV pub in Angel, London.
Fifty Amazon Marketplace sellers attended (it was standing room only in the end). The event was sponsored by Currencies Direct and Anglia Forwarding and both companies presented to and took questions from the audience about their specialisms, saving money on Amazon marketplace currency exchange and freight forwarding. The free food and drink, provided by the sponsors, was very welcome, especially on a very hot evening. All types of sellers were represented: established, new and those still in the discovery stage.
You can join the Amazon Sellers Group on Meetup, and further sessions are planned in London on September 9th and October the 20th and, possibly, Manchester. Feedback from the sellers was very positive and the consensus was that it was a great evening with lots of useful advice from Deepak Goyal (Currencies Direct) and Colin and Terry (Anglia), as well as being a great opportunity to meet fellow sellers to swap product and trading tips and Amazon best practice (well, probably more the latter, no one wants to give away their product secrets!) Everyone I spoke to took something positive away from the event and said they would attend future meetups organised by this group.
