Doddle have started to expand their Doddle Runner service, which first launched in August in the EC1-EC4 area of London.
Runner is a next day delivery service, with a VIP touch. You tell Doddle where you are and they’ll come to you, collect your object, wrap it and send it by their best price next day UK delivery service.
The Doddle Runner service features specially trained Runners who will come and collect parcels from you so there’s no need to leave your desk, home or even the café you’re sat in to send a parcel. In a few taps of the app, one of Doddle’s Runners will come to you in under an hour to collect your parcel.
Doddle Runner is now operating in EC1-4, WC1, WC2, SE1 (Waterloo to Bermondsey), SW1 (Victoria & Whitehall), W2 (Bayswater & Paddington) with plans to expand further across London and to more UK cities.
I would give the service a try next time I’m in Tamebay’s London office, but sadly it’s only available as an iPhone app and of course I use a Samsung running Android! Would you appreciate a local pick up ad hoc courier service – I’m wondering how many people might do their Christmas shopping at lunch time from retailers offering a gift wrap service and then have their presents picked up from work for delivery to family and friends… sounds like a plan to me!
