Lengow Day 2016 emphasises cross border opportunities

Lengow Day 2016Lengow Day started with a bang. Actually that was the day before when the army blew up a consignment of blue Lengow pony stress balls that had been left in a box… oops!

The smell of burning rubber still lingering in the morning breeze we headed into the conference centre where I was able to talk to representatives from a Russian, Spanish, and Chinese marketplace as well as the founder of the UK’s own IMRG.

What was apparent from the day are the untapped opportunities around the world.

With Brexit still on Europeans minds it’s easy to be Eurocentric, but Lengow Day emphasised the global opportunities in countries EU retailers would traditionally shy away from as too difficult logistically to trade with.

Cultural differences are evident which is where local expertise is essential (Talking of which many thanks to the amazing Tegan and Johanna who found the only decent cups of tea in Paris… the difficulty of finding tea might be trite but demonstrates how a different country has different expectations and that is just as true of ecommerce as it is beverage preferences).

If you missed Lengow Day 2016 make sure you book in 2017.
