Argos and eBay Drop Off Pilot ends

No primary category set

eBay‘s parcel drop off pilot where consumer sellers could despatch items by taking them to their nearest Argos store, will be closing at the end of the month. The highly successful click and collect service which has been used by 10s of millions of buyers as a convenient collection choice will remain in place and appears ever more popular with buyers.

This isn’t the end of the road for eBay delivery services, we announced back in August 2016 that a new delivery experience is being built with eBay owned Shutl. Currently myHermes and Collect Plus have both signed up as partners. If you are interested you can sign up to request early access to the program’s trial phase as it rolls out.

eBay clarified the news saying “Argos and eBay will be discontinuing the ‘drop-off’ pilot on 1st February 2017 – a programme that enables sellers to ship sold items from selected Argos stores.

The service was available at 150 Argos stores and is part of an innovation programme to give buyers and sellers more choice and convenience.

This does not affect the click and collect programme which recently surpassed 10 million items being collected through the service.
