Target email marketing to the US to celebrate 4th July

Tomorrow, the 4th of July is Independence Day in the US and a national holiday. Whilst it’s not as big a shopping day as is the upcoming Prime Day on the 11th of July and the Black Friday weekend, it’s still a day when many US retailers will be having sales and special offers so there’s nothing wrong (and it’s still not too late) to do some email marketing ready for when our friends across the Atlantic wake up.

It may seem strange for Brits to think about celebrations marking the day when the US parted company from the British Empire and the then 13 States declared themselves and independent nation, but retail and especially online retail bears no grudges and the US are firm allies of the British so let’s give them some deals and get a few of their dollars flowing back to the UK.

Interestingly, Independence legally occurred 240 years ago yesterday, on the 2nd of July, but the Declaration of Independence was debated and approved by Congress two days later so the 4th of July is the date Americans have always celebrated.
