More people are working for Amazon in the Czech Republic and further expansion is expected. Amazon has announced plans to create more than 500 additional permanent jobs this year, taking the company’s total Czech workforce to more than 5000. The successful candidates will join Amazon’s operations in Dobrovíz or Corporate office teams in Prague-Dejvice.

According to Karel Foltýn, HR Director of Operations Germany and Central and Eastern Europe, the workforce will continue to grow: “We are very happy that our recruitment in the Czech Republic is ahead of plan. We committed to creating 4000 permanent jobs at the end of 2017, but our headcount grew to more than 4500 full-time permanent employees in the end of last year. There is a wealth of talents in the Czech Republic who are open to a new experiences and opportunities in a company that is driven by technological innovation and customer focus.”

Amazon opened fulfilment centres in the Czech Republic in order to meet growing customer demand across Europe, as any seller using Amazon FBA in Europe will know. The Czech facilities serve many locations and shoppers in Europe, especially Germany. Currently Prague, together with the nearby town of Dobrovíz, is home to a customer returns centre and a corporate office. Beside the current facilities, Amazon opened a Fulfilment Centre next to the customer return centre in the second half of 2015.
