After 18 years at Amazon Greg Greeley Vice President of Amazon Prime Worldwide has decided to leave the company, saying “The time has come for me take on a different challenge”.

Amazon Prime only launched in 2005, so Greg has been at Amazon since it’s inception, and he’s had roles in finance, International Expansion (including building out Amazon Europe) as well as the delivery side of the business.

If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, or indeed in the UK and EU if you’re an Amazon customer, then Greg has been influential over the years in building the experiences you enjoy. More importantly for Amazon merchants, if you use FBA then your business has been shaped by Greg over the past couple of decades.

Looking back at his time at Amazon which Greg describes as “an amazing and inspirational experience”, he references Amazon’s eight clearly defined long-term principles and said he truly believes that, even now, it is still Day 1 for Amazon.

“Amazon is a company where you really can help invent the future, a company where builders can build, a company where you have a unique opportunity to work hard, have fun, and make history.”
– Greg Greeley Vice President of Amazon Prime Worldwide

Greg closed his open letter announcing his departure speaking to Amazon employees saying “I am deeply thankful to the tens of thousands of Amazon team members that I have been fortunate to work with. It has been an honor and a privilege”.
