The Amazon Prime Whole Foods 10% discount that was announced a few weeks ago, and launched in Florida, will be expanding its reach to 12 more American states as part of full nationwide roll-out. We wrote about it here: Amazon Prime subscribers to get another 10% off at Whole Foods.
As Amazon said at the time of the initial launch:
This new Prime benefit at Whole Foods Market is a perfect pairing of healthy and delicious food at even more affordable prices. Our vision is that every day Prime makes your life better, easier and more fun, and shopping at Whole Foods Market with exclusive deals and savings is all of this and more.
– Cem Sibay, Vice President, Amazon Prime
Here’s the page relevant to the expansion.
Amazon Prime customers across the entire country will be able to get discounts at all Whole Foods Markets by the end of summer. Amazon says that all Whole Foods Market 365 convenience style stores in the US are now part of the deal. Whole Foods has 470 stores in the USA, Canada and UK. 463 are in the States.
The discount is also available to customers who use the Whole Foods delivery service, which is part of the Amazon app stateside. Prime members get free delivery on orders over $35 or more, and can enjoy a two-hour delivery window.
Amazon Prime is a compelling offer to any shopper who regularly uses the premium supermarket because the subscription can be easily covered over the course of the year by the grocery discount. And for Amazon Prime subscribers, it makes Whole Foods a more interesting proposition as a place to shop.
It is notable that Amazon has been swift to integrate so fully with Whole Foods since the acquisition last year. And this expansion from Florida to 12 more states comes less than two weeks after it was initially announced. It is testament to Amazon’s nimbleness and effectiveness that they have been able to make such fast progress.
