Etsy Made Local to return to the UK in 2018

The Etsy Made Local events will be returning to the UK From the 30th November to 2nd December. This is where online traders get selling in the real world and take their Etsy sales to pop-up markets in numerous locations. Last year the 41 UK locations apparently hosted 2500 Etsy sellers who met 180k local shoppers.

You can find the full list of locations and registration details here.

Each individual Etsy Made Local event is organised by a Team of Etsy sellers; from the event logistics, right down to the vendor recruitment and selection process. Each location will have a different application form and process so it’s important that you read each market’s set of instructions clearly. Not every market will be ready to accept vendor applications. If your nearest location is one of these then have no fear; they’ve come up with a cunning way to keep you posted for when they do officially open applications so still click through.

Quite a number of the application deadlines are coming up, although equally other locations haven’t opened up yet. So if you’re interested in getting involved then it’s wise to check out what’s going on down your way.

The terms of enagagement vary from event to event. Some run for the full 3 days, others just the one. So, if you’re pressed for time, in what is the peak ecommerce season, a one-day promotional event might be better. And it’s also worth noting that a fee is usually payable to cover the costs of hosting the stall. We’d love to hear from any merchants who successfully got involved with this last year.

Or, perhaps even, why you’re not getting involved. There is something about trading online which is wedded to selling to as wide an audience of possible at any time and a pop-up stand is somehow at odds with that ideal.
