The much anticipated Etsy search analytics is now available to all merchants on the marketplace according to a recent announcement. You can read about the new tool here. And access it directly via your seller dashboard here.
The tool originally launched back at the start of October was subsequently retracted because it didn’t give accurate insights. We wrote about that here.
As they say of the new tool:
Search Analytics gives you in-depth data about the queries shoppers are using to find your items, which tags on your listings match shoppers searches, and how well your listings are converting from search. You can also see your average position in search results so you can track changes in your ranking as a result of your optimisation efforts.

The Etsy search analytics tool offer a plethora of information to merchants on how they can optimise listings, how the can improve conversion and also understand how well listings are performing compared to this time last year. That should be very useful as ecommerce gallops toward the apogee of the ecommerce year and the peak period progresses.
Etsy has been diligent this year when it comes to tooling up its merchants with information to help them sell. One such resource was the The Ultimate Guide to Etsy Search.
Needless to say, one of the reasons why there is such an onus on Etsy merchants to optimise and improve their listings lies with how the crafts and vintage marketplace works. As the likes of Amazon, and ever more so eBay, work on a catalogue system, Etsy doesn’t have the same option. Owing to the variety and uniqueness of what’s on offer there, individual listings must be individually crafted to get the best results.
What remains to be seen is the extent to which Etsy merchants embrace this new too. It could be a significant sink of time to crunch the numbers but will that translate to better sales?
