Amazon say that not all shipping speeds are available for all products in all regions, and order minimums may apply.
“Prime was built on the foundation of unlimited fast, free shipping, and we keep working to add faster and even more convenient delivery options. In the last year, Prime members around the world ordered more than two billion products with one-day delivery or faster. And today we announced that Prime members in more than 10,000 cities and towns in the U.S. have access to free one-day shipping or faster. Any customer can sign up or try Prime for free for 30-days to experience the best of shopping and entertainment from Amazon over the holidays.”
-Cem Sibay vice president at Amazon Prime
Our view: Amazon continues to show customer-obsession as they prolong their Christmas free-shipping with no minimum purchase amount to a larger volume of Prime-eligible members in the US. The marketplace not only allows shoppers to enjoy free shipping but also treat themselves to last-minute impulse buys they might turn to either top-up their festive dinner table or stockings. To me, this sounds like the ultimate idea of convenience as you can order products via mobile without any effort. If that’s not a leading example of a marketplace fitting their services around customers, then what is?
