Back and bigger than ever – the UK’s biggest online marketplace conference, Retail Without Borders 2019 was the sixth and greatest London edition, welcoming the highest number of attendees to date! The ecommerce packed day saw the many of the world’s most influential international marketplaces meeting with the biggest names in global retail, all in the name of promoting business growth worldwide.

The eventful day was crammed full of cross border insights and provided all the invaluable information needed for retailers looking to broaden their horizons internationally, through online marketplaces.

Jon Snow at Retail Without Borders 2019Retail Without Borders 2019 welcomed 30+ ecommerce experts to the stage, to share their insights into today’s online retail climate and how businesses can explore opportunities of growth cross border. Given the ongoing deliberations around the UK’s position in the EU, our first panel session on cross-border opportunities post-Brexit, guest-chaired by renowned broadcaster Jon Snow, provided a great point of discussion and delivered a greater understanding of what other business opportunities lie in unexplored markets.

Zori @ Retail Without Borders 2019Other topics covered included current issues businesses experience within online retail – the battle for the high-street, the rise of the conscious consumer, and delving into developing ecommerce markets, among other themes.

The host of the conference, Pentagon, were proud to be joined on the day by a multitude of marketplaces, including Rakuten, Cencosud, Catch, La Redoute, Trade Me, Fruugo, NewEgg, eBay for Business and Zalando, to name a few. Here’s what some of the attendees had to say about this year’s Retail Without Borders:

“We’ve been coming for over 4 – 5 years, so we’re really happy attending the event – it’s a really good way to meet our partners, and see new brands, so they can join our marketplace”
– Carlos Cantoni, La Redoute

“Retail Without Borders obviously attracts global retailers and marketplaces, so it was the perfect place to meet new customers”
– Mike Hayers, Shipstation

“Brilliant experience I’ve met so many new people – it’s nice to be here to meet sellers and tell them about the great things we do”
– Sinead O’Neill, eBay for Business

“What is extraordinary about a day like today is that you think all of these people are in their cells, working out wonderful online platforms – what is amazing is to get them into the room, into one big room, of hundreds of people, all engaged on the platform, but very often not actually meeting each other, and I think this has created a great fusion; people are learning off each other, enormously.”
– Jon Snow, Renowned broadcaster and journalist

If you missed Retail Without Borders 2019, make sure you sign up for Pentagon’s next event when it’s announced. This is the one place where you’ll meet a ton of new marketplaces to expand your business on, at home and around the world.
