Etsy are calling on sellers to turn Labor Day into a shopping bonanza, inspiring sellers to initiate promotions that attract shoppers to their listings and bag sales during the annual celebration of the achievements of workers in the US and Canada.

Etsy have shared the announcement of the future celebration in Etsy Community forum, encouraging ‘Etsies’ “to take advantage of the upcoming holiday shopping weekend: Labor Day.”

Etsy say the day serves as an opportunity “to clear out summer inventory, preview your autumn inventory, or attract early-bird holiday shoppers.”

Sellers can schedule a sale from the 30th of August to the 2nd of September to help Labor Day shoppers find a deal on something special over this popular shopping weekend.

How to schedule a Labor Day sale

Merchants need to visit Your Shop’s Checklist within their Shop Manager dashboard to run a sale in just one click. They can use the sales and coupons tool to schedule a sale.

  1. If you’re going to get it wrong, you should at least be consistent.

In the US and Canada, Labour is spelt (or spelled in American English) Labor. I’m not aware of the UK adopting this American public holiday (September 3rd)? In your title and elsewhere, you should be writing ‘Labor’ as you have in your penultimate paragraph.

Labour Day a.k.a. International Workers Day, is traditionally celebrated on the 1st of May.
