The sun is still giving us some blazingly hot late summer days, but the shops already have the Christmas Chocolates in stock and now it’s Amazon’s turn to talk about the festive season with the Amazon Guide to Christmas 2019.
Amazon have revealed that the 4th December is the date that the average Brit will dig out the tinsel and tree, though Christmas cheer strikes early in the North East where the tree and tinsel go up a full month before the big day. On average, we are set to buy 17 gifts and will spend 558 minutes working through our shopping lists. While 27% will be planning what they buy “well in advance”, 5.3 million Brits won’t finish their festive shopping until Christmas Eve.
There is finally a definitive answer to when it is acceptable to start playing Christmas music – the research found the average Brit will turn on their festive playlist from 7th December. Younger generations will be singing aloud for all to hear, as Gen Z’s dedicate an impressive 4 hours to curating the perfect festive soundtrack.
