2020 Amazon fee adjustments start to take effect

Amazon have emailed merchants to remind them of Amazon fee adjustments, most of which come into effect on the 1st of April, but some are now live. Particularly worth noting is the Amazon fee adjustments for Clothing, Shoes and Bags which started on the 1st of March and runs for a full year offering savings on fees.

Clothing, Shoes and Bags referral fee promotion for FBA and Seller Fulfilled Prime

The referral fee will be decreased during the promotional period from the 1st of March 2020, until the 28th of February 2021. The Amazon referral fee promotion will see fees for Clothing, Shoes and Bags reduce from 15% to 7% on the portion of total sales price greater than €45/£40. That’s a whole year of discounted fees for higher priced items in these categories.

Personal Care Appliances

The referral fee will be decreased from 15% to 8% for items priced less than €10/£10.

Computer and Electronics Accessories

The referral fee will be increased from 12% to 15% for the portion of total sales price up to €100/£100. The referral fee will decrease from 12% to 8% for the portion of total sales price greater than €100/£100.

Digital services tax in Italy

With the introduction of the 3% digital services tax in Italy, we will adjust our referral fee rates on Amazon.it accordingly. For example, on an item for which the referral fee is currently 15.00%, you will pay a fee of 15.45%.

It’s worth a reminder that the Amazon Referral fee rates on Amazon.fr will continue to reflect an adjustment based on the digital services tax in France. This adjustment became effective on the 1st of October 2019.
