GFS have released their latest updates on courier services. The updates below provided by GFS are issued following the announcement of stricter measures to help limit the spread of COVID-19 by the Prime Minister yesterday and reflect any impact from the announcement.
Domestic Networks
Hermes
Hermes have now introduced their My Places feature on their app. It allows customers to leave a photo of their preferred safe place and also to highlight their preferred neighbour.
Yodel
Yodel are reporting delays to deliveries services in certain parts of their network, these include the below service centres:
Mitcham
Hayes
Gatwick
Borehamwood
Waltham Cross
All other Domestic guidance remains as previously advised.
International Networks
DHL Express – India
India have issued directions for a lock down for an initial 3 week period.
This affects manufacturing facilities, shops, trains and public transport.
Given the complexity of the environment, DHL Express have announced the following will be implemented immediately:
All Pickup and Delivery Services in India will be suspended during this period.
Pickup from other countries into India can still continue but will be limited to documents (Product D) only. All shipments bound for India will be staged in South Asia Hub until a time when service in India is resumed.
DHL India will continue to work closely with the governments and the regulatory authorities to decide future course of action. Any change in status will be updated as soon as we are advised.
DPD Europe Pickup Shops
Due to ongoing restrictions and widespread closures in the DPD Pickup network in Europe, returns into the Pickup network are suspended, consumers will be unable to print labels for drop-off purposes.
3rd party collections using the DPD Classic road service can still be arranged through GFS Seeker, if you require any further information or support please speak with your GFS Account Manager.
GFS
GFS eCommerce Economy & GFS eCommerce Plus services to South Africa & Sri Lanka are currently suspended. GFS are currently servicing these destinations through DHL Express. Please speak to your account manager if you require any further information.
