PayPal bring the holiday magic home with Christmas ad

No primary category set

PayPal has followed in Amazon’s footsteps and released a new Christmas Ad featuring a ballerina. The ad urges consumers to have a magical Christmas to remember by making personal memories no matter how you celebrate. You might not be able to be uncle awesome this year, but you’ll still be able to set up something special for your family at home.

Unlike Amazon’s advert, PayPal have kept things strictly family orientated and made only subtle reference to the mayhem of the global pandemic. They’ve also made sure not to upset any children, after making a public apology for their 2015 advert which was said to have spoilt the magic of Christmas by daring to suggest that parents might actually do some Christmas shopping.

The advert begins with a father admiring his daughter’s online ballet lesson, we then see him buying various bits and pieces, sneaking around with boxes, and messing around with the items he has purchased. At the end of the ad, he surprises his daughter with a ballet performance featuring himself leaving Santa to continue dealing with everything else. To conclude, it’s taken PayPal 5 years to create an advert which doesn’t ruin the spirit of Christmas in the UK. You can watch the advert below.
