As a pat of their ongoing work to bring a huge range of improvements to the site, OnBuy scheduled maintenance will see the marketplace go dark tonight and is expected to go live again early Tuesday morning.
It’s highly unusual for any ecommerce business to undertake major work in Q4, but OnBuy are still a relatively new business despite having grown massively to become one of the biggest UK marketplaces behind US giants Amazon, eBay and Etsy. We know they’ve big plans for 2023 and they must have gotten to a stage where they had to take the decision that delaying the OnBuy scheduled maintenance would put their dev path too far behind schedule.
On the plus side, OnBuy haven’t yet built up a huge international following and so most users probably won’t even notice the downtime so long as the site is back by morning. Most UK consumers will be wrapped up asleep in bed and most businesses will have shut down for the night and when they arrive in the office early on Tuesday everything should be back up and running.
