Locators for business with Woosmap & what3words

Woosmap, a platform offering privacy-first geolocation APIs and SDKs, and what3words, the global location technology, are thrilled to announce a strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to combine their products to enhance customer experience when looking for a precise location or an address. The partnership means online retailers, or businesses who collect addresses from their customers, can offer a user-friendly way to let them specify their exact location alongside a traditional postal address.

Woosmap is an exciting platform with “Near me” tailored geolocation solutions for specific industry to enable retailers to deliver a highly personalised physical and digital customer experience. They can offer a ready-to-use, conversion-oriented Store Locator to increase in-store foot traffic or appointments. Other features include detection of the location of your users to calculate ETAs or trigger events based on geofence tracking, and intuitive guidance of your visitors in your indoor spaces with a navigation by Points of Interest with Woosmap Indoor.

Traditional street addressing often fails to meet the demands of today’s services. Addresses aren’t always accurate, street names are often duplicated, postcodes cover broad areas, and specific building entrances can be hard to find. And for new builds, it can take up to 6 months for the address to be registered. In fact, a quarter of people in the UK find that their full postal address doesn’t direct people, deliveries or services exactly to their front door. Poor addressing can add difficulties for couriers too, and this is something what3words is perfectly positioned to solve.

Woosmap users will now be able to use “Woosmap for what3words” powered by Localities API to enhance their address validation experience – providing customers the smoothest way to enter the most accurate address. It’ll be of great help particularly for retailers trying to collect the most accurate addresses at checkout or even car insurance and repair centres who need to be able to locate customers quickly and accurately. With thousands of breakdown and emergencies on the road in the UK each year, combining what3words to Woosmap means better geographical coverage and precise locations for faster interventions. You can discover this new product via the free Woosmap documentation – available here.

We’re excited to implement what3words to the Woosmap platform. It’s a perfect combination with our Localities API, which is a powerful autocomplete and geocode service that allows our clients to autocomplete, geocode and get details on worldwide geographical places. This partnership brings together our complementary strengths. With what3words, our users will be able to find the 3 words associated with any location. Working in such a competitive market can be challenging but with the addition of what3words we’re even more confident about our product.
