Small Business 2.0, London, October 11th 2008

Small Business 2.0 has announced an updated programme including speakers from eBay, Microsoft, Get Safe Online and Easily.co.uk. The London event on 11th October 2008 is for small businesses, including eBay sellers, that want to get more from the internet.

  • Richard Ambrose and Rafael Orta from eBay UK are talking about recent changes to the marketplace and answering your questions.
  • Cedric Chambaz from Microsoft demystifies search engine marketing and the Microsoft team will showcase the tools they have to make the internet easy for small businesses.
  • Tony Neate, Managing Director of Get Safe Online (a government supported online safety initiative) will be showing you how to keep your business safe on the internet.

Check out the full programme and see who else is exhibiting. Other exhibitors and speakers include Frooition, Channel Advisor, BT Tradespace and Royal Mail.

A little bird tells me that there are still a few free tickets up for grabs to Tamebay readers. Simply enter the code ‘TAMEBAY08’ on the registration page for your freebie. See you there 😉

  1. Am very interested to hear what Microsoft have to say. For one thing it’s not often you hear news from them specifically for the UK and secondly I’m gagging to hear if the cashback available to buyers in the US will hit the UK in time for Christmas this year.

  2. Chris,

The good news is that Microsoft won’t just be presenting but they’ll be exhibiting too, so everyone will get a chance to meet them.

They’ve also promised some freebies. And we all like a bit of free swag. ;o)

  3. I am looking forward to hearing from Microsoft and seeing what RA has to say about the next 12 months on eBay. Also hoping to listen to DW and if I get time a sit down with Channel advisor.

Also looking forward to teaching Chris a few lesson’s on the green baize.

  4. Does anyone know if transcripts of the seminars will be available for ones where they double and we can’t get to both at the same time (unless the Big Bang scientists developed a way to split people as well as atoms)?

Dan – will you have any handouts – you are doubled with Paypal, I think I need to go there, but want to see yours…. 🙁

  5. Josordoni,

Yeah, unfortunately there are going to be some inevitable clashes, although we’ve tried to avoid it as best we can.

Handouts are a good idea, and we’re looking at putting the presentations online. I can’t help thinking, with the help of modern technology, whether there isn’t something we can do with video/recorded audio. I’ll have a think. ;O)

  6. woops! just remembered that i still need to book our hotel for this!

Should be good to hear what microsoft have to say, and the other speakers too. i’m also looking forward to seeing everyone after for a few beers before shaun and i go out and check out londons clubscene!!

  7. If anyone is flying into Stansted on Friday around 1900 we will have 2 seats spare in the cab if you need a lift into town.

Still not booked a hotel, to many nice ones to choose from !! Doubt I will be allowed out to any clubs lol.

Be interesting to hear what Microsoft and RA have to say, shame DW clashes with Paypal though.

  8. Well, for people who aren’t predominantly eBay traders/retailers (service providers, freelancers etc) PayPal might be of less interest to them, so it’s only fair to provide something absorbing to them. 😉
