Dan Wilson was one of the very first employees to work for eBay in the UK well before the days when they moved into plush offices in Richmond with 100s of employees. Having worked for them from 1999 until 2006 he then left his final position as eBay Community Manager having written a successful book “Make Serious Money on eBay UK”.
Dan is now a freelance consultant and writer specialising in online communities, ecommerce, social media, internet marketing and eBay and so it was somewhat of a surprise to hear he’s headed back to eBay as Editor of the Online Business Forum, so we had to ask him more about it.
The Online Business Forum is a place for SMES, especially those in the online business world, to come together and share ideas and insights, and debate the issues that matter most to them. LinkedIN.com is the ideal location for it because it’s the world’s biggest professional social network and it gives us an opportunity to look not just at eBay but other ecommerce platforms and all manner of topics including SEO, social media and internet marketing to name but a few.
It’s great to be back working with eBay and eBay sellers, but as the Editor of the Online Business Forum, I’m entirely independent and am enjoying it immensely. I feel like we’re doing something new and exciting.
We’re also looking forward to inviting interesting guest experts onto the OBF to discuss issues and answer questions from our members. Our first event will be next Monday, the 15th November, at 3pm when Doug Richard will be stopping by to talk about his new venture: The Entrepreneurs’ Union. He wants to hear directly from online businesses about what support they need from Government.
