Rithum appointed by B&Q to help drive ecommerce growth

Rithum (Previously ChannelAdvisor and CommerceHub) has been appointed by UK home improvement retailer, B&Q, to support the retailer’s marketplace expansion by drastically reducing the time it takes for brands to be onboarded to the B&Q website.

Rithum’s collaboration with B&Q will offer a more efficient and user-friendly experience for sellers on B&Q’s marketplace, and halve the time taken to onboard new sellers. It opens up new opportunities for home and DIY sellers seeking to expand their reach across diverse sales channels.

This partnership should supercharge the adoption of the B&Q marketplace by brands – Rithum have a roster of top clients whose products would be perfect for B&Q and a streamlined channel to launch on the marketplace makes this a no-brainer for most businesses – B&Q attract somewhere in the region of 20 million UK customers to shop on their website.

This is also likely to massively increase selection on B&Q as many brands will have thousands, if not tens of thousands of SKUs which can be launched in bulk through Rithum.

Consumers are more often than not shopping around for the best price, and even traditionally brick and mortar sectors are becoming more present online. Home improvement became a big focus during lockdown and being able to bring new products online quickly and efficiently will be essential to success as trends evolve.

Our collaboration will mean B&Q can easily expand its inventory catalogue and strengthen customer and supplier relations. Tools like automated SKU conversion, product discovery, and supplier and product performance insights give them the flexibility to launch and manage any partnership model. All essential factors in helping to support growth.

– Philip Hall, managing director for EMEA, Rithum

We’re committed to continually expanding our range at B&Q marketplace, and being able to onboard new products quickly is crucial to this so that we can give customers even more choice to help make it easier to improve their homes.

Reducing the time taken to get products live allows us to be flexible and react to trends quickly. Rithum provides us with the ability to leverage a single, powerful platform, that gives retailers and brands the operational agility to connect with our customers, to help drive our ecommerce revenue.
