Brightpearl online/offline multi-channel retail solution

There’s a new option available for retailers looking for a multi-channel solution to include eBay and Magento. This week Brightpearl unveiled additions to their solution adding eBay and Magento Support, businesses can now connect their eBay listings and Magento-based stores with Brightpearl’s easy-to-use platform for customer relationship management (CRM), electronic point of sale (EPOS), accounting, order and inventory management.

I find Brightpearl an interesting solution as it differs from many of the multi-channel management solutions many of us are familiar with. Brightpearl’s strengths lay in inventory management, warehouse management and EPOS systems along with CRM and accounting.

I know many online sellers who would love the ability to scan a product at despatch, have confirmation it matches the order being packed – Brightpearl can deliver this.

Adding in support for eBay and Magento increases the attraction as retailers can have everything they need to manage their business in one integrated system. You can even set up separate price lists for products for different retail or wholesale customers and suppliers, so you give your products different prices depending on who you are buying them from and who you’re selling them to.

eBay have made no secret about their vision for the future of ecommerce. With the X.Commerce offering their aim is to connect online and offline commerce into a seamless “commerce” experience. Brightpearl’s solution offers this opportunity to bricks and mortar businesses to add in the online clicks but with full integration into an existing EPOS, CRM and accounting solution.

It may not be the solution for you, especially if you already have an existing multi-channel software solution. However if you have multiple warehouses and especially if you have multiple retail outlets then Brightpearl is worth taking a serious look at. EPOS and offline integration is where the incumbent multi-channel solutions are weak, EPOS and offline integration combined with online retailing is what Brightpearl excels at.
