Did your eBay fees rise unexpectedly?

No primary category set

Following the category changes announced in the Spring Seller release some sellers will have suddenly been paying higher eBay Final Value fees than expected. As a result of categories being moved they now reside in a different fee tranche, but the good news is having realised this eBay will credit you for the fee increase up until the 12th of June 2012.

eBay have published a full list of all the affected categories and the that applies to them. The fee increase will be effective after the 12th of June, but in the mean time the credits mean you’ll pay lower fees.

If you sell curtain fabric then there’s one final sting in the tail, up until now you’ll have had up to 12 images for free, the category changes mean that you’ll now be paying for all images bar the first which remains free. With a bit of luck this won’t be for long though, it’s high time that eBay gave all images for free in the UK as they already do so on eBay.com

  1. Actually those listing in the curtain fabric section won’t just be stung with a simple additional image charge, it’s actually far worse.

Ebay offered their image upgrades for free as default in this category, which when added up can turn the original 10p listing into an almost £5 listing!

Very poor show on Ebay for not alerting sellers in this category of this change.

  2. I am more concerned about the fact that this seems to have broken turbo lister.

  3. It’s not difficult to put extra images within a listing for free; you just use a little html code and host your pics off eBay.
