PayPal issue mobile shopping safety advice

PayPal has issued a series of tips on their blog this week to help people stay safe when they’re shopping and paying on their smartphone this Christmas time.

Although the safety tips generally fall under a “that’s bleeding obvious” banner, it’s no bad thing to think about how your smartphone crammed as it is with vital and personal data, is a potential goldmine for criminals.

The blog post also has taught me a new word: smishing. Despite the slightly smutty sound, it’s phishing via SMS text message. Every day’s a school day.
